The Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup is coming back and is now getting ready to unfold once again.
After the success of its maiden conference, the first professional basketball league in the south will once again showcase the basketball skills of homegrown Filipinos based on Visayas and Mindanao. Opening tentatively on November at Pagadian City, the league is planning on hosting both the Visayas and Mindanao teams at the same time, different from last time.
No other than CEO of Pilipinas-VisMin Cup Sports Promotion Services Corporation Rocky Chan bared that this new conference will be more exciting for fans due to entry of new teams with new set of players, new set of rules and new set of league personalities.
According to him, there will be influx of young players on old teams that will make the games more exciting to watch. Also there will be changes in team rosters to give more emphasis on homegrown talents. The league will also try to limit the teams to 12 to finish the conference early. Also, the COO turned CEO believes that he sees no competition between VisMin and any other rising leagues since they all have the same agenda – to provide entertaining basketball to Pinoy hoops fans and to develop young and rising basketball players.
Despite some controversies in the past, the league was able to finish its two legs on a high note, highlighted by the unblemished record of Basilan Peace Riders – Jumbo Plastic en route to being the first ever champion of the VisMin Cup.
Everyone is now excited to watch the new conference unfold. Let’s see if Basilan can make it back to back or will a new team surprise us and steal the crown from the defending champs.
The Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup is presented by Chooks to Go, in association with MDC ball, Wcube Solutions Inc, Virux and Tolak Angin.
