The Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup Second Conference is finally here.
Following the successful pilot conference, the Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup will once again showcase the skills of homegrown Filipino basketball players from Visayas and Mindanao.
The new conference of the first professional basketball league in the south will open on November 20, with the city of Pagadian again serving as host. There will be eight participating teams in this open conference, whereas, Visayas and Mindanao teams will battle with each other in a double round elimination round — unlike the previous conference where there was Visayas and Mindanao legs.
There are 6 returning teams for this second conference headed by home team, Pagadian. Joining the mix are Iligan, Roxas, Misamis Oriental, the lone returning team from the Visayas leg, Lapu-Lapu, and the team looking for a back-to-back championship, Basilan, which will parade a new team. Two new teams representing the city of Danao and the province of Zamboanga Sibugay will complete the 8-team tourney.
All teams are now in the process of preparing the needed documents for the GAB license.
The second conference will still be in a bubble set-up due to stricter safety protocols in the country. But no other than CEO Rocky Chan and COO Chelito Caro have ensured that heightened health protocols will be implemented to ensure the safety of all players, coaches, and staff.
The Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup aims to develop and produce great young players from the southern region by giving them an avenue to play competitive basketball to gain exposure and experience.
The Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup is presented by Chooks to Go, in association with MDC Ball, Wcube Solutions Inc, Virux, Tolak Angin, Phenom, Finn Cotton, 1st Core Fitness Center, Athena, and Bucket Vault PH.
