BYB Kapatagan Buffalos earned much needed first victory in a come from behind fashion

BYB Kapatagan Buffalos finally won its first game of the Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup second conference after defeating the Iligan City Archangels, 82-78 Thursday afternoon at Pagadian City.

Jonel Bonganciso led the Buffalos with a double double performance of 14 points and 14 rebounds while five other players contributed at least 10 points to help Kapatagan came back and stole the game away from Iligan.

The Archangels controlled majority of the game thanks to their fluid offensive game led by Jack Hoyohoy and Arche Salo who combined for 31 points in the game but the Buffalos were more efficient in the second half after outscoring their counterparts 44-31 after the halftime break.

Gayford Rodriguez continued to be a steady offensive presence for Kapatagan as helped Bonganciso in the scoring category by adding 14 points, Mark Daanoy added 13 while Adrian Lao and Garexx Puerto also contributed 13 and 10 points, respectively.

Hoyohoy, Salo and Lester Tamayo finished with 17, 14 and 10 points to lead the Archangels in a losing effort. Iligan committed 30 turnovers which proved to be too costly.

Kapatagan now stands at 1-2 while Iligan fell to 1-3.
